About Us

Here at Cherry tree we are smallholders and over the years have had livestock ranging from cows to geese. We are based on our beautiful smallholding in Waskerley an area of natural outstanding beauty where we are surrounded by rolling hills and moors.

Round the Farm

We currently have three horses – Ice, Beau and Gem:
Ice
She is an 11 year old Hanoverian X Appaloosa mare. We have owned Ice since she was 5 months old. Lindsay competes with her locally and she is a real sweetie!

Beau
Beau is a three year old gelding who was bred out of Ice. His sire is a registered Hanoverian stallion.

Gem
Gem is a three year old gentle filly. She is a Cob cross and we have owned her since she was 11 months old.

Lindsay is in her ‘spare time’ is breaking in Beau and Gem and they will hopefully be fantastic all rounders in the future.

Gertie and Trudie

Gertie and Trudie
Gertie and Trudie are beautiful rare breed Berkshire Pigs. They have just had their first litters of piglets so Lindsay is spending a lot of time stopping them getting into mischief, and boy do they get into mischief!

The hens
The hens are free range black rocks and are reared on only the best hen feed. We all benefit from the fantastic free range eggs!

Expert mousing cat

Scrumpy and Chevy
The expert mousing farm cats. They will welcome visitors to Cherry tree with a purr!

Bracken
Our trusty sheep dog who ‘assists’ Lindsay in herding the piglets!

Margaret
Margaret is the Managing Director of Cherry tree and is very hands on with the comings and goings around the business. She wears many a hat in the business from ‘bookkeeper’ to ‘delivery girl’ to ‘head chef’ supplying everyone with home cooked delights.

Lindsay
Lindsay is Sales Director and Margaret’s daughter. She is the equestrian of the family and competes locally on Ice. Lindsay has been riding pretty much since she could walk! She has a great deal of knowledge of finicky horses that may need different horse feed from the norm.
